EWB-UIC Update & Future Meeting Dates

Hello EWB members and supporters!!!

Here is a little update of our project progress as well as a reminder of future meetings.

ASSESSMENT TRIP
Our current assessment trip is underway and near completion in the village of Cerro Alto, Guatemala. The assessment team will be returning tomorrow night. The purpose of the trip is to discuss our idea for water treatment with the village, plan for our January 2009 implementation, finalize local supplies, and do additional water testing. We will be having a general meeting TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 11th at 4:15pm (location tbd) at to present members with the details and results of the trip. You don't want to miss it!!!!!

FUTURE MEETINGS
On MONDAY, NOVEMBER 17th at 12-1:30pm in ERF 1043 we will be having a guest lecturer. Paul Brandt-Rauf, Dr.P.H, M.D., Sc.D., the new Dean of the School of Public Heath, will be speaking about his experiences with Engineers Without Borders.

On MONDAY, NOVEMBER 24th at 12-1:30pm (location tbd) we will be co-sponsoring a panel discussion on LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) policy, history, technical aspects, and LEED application on UIC's campus.
