Hey EWB-UIC!
In case you haven't been following the minutes we decided to split the Implementation Trip into two trips: a small trip in January and a larger trip in May.
The January 2009 trip will mainly focus on the chlorine treatment design. We are going to build the mixing basin design if we determine their current treatment is inadequate. Everything else we have been planning will be completed in May.
Hey everyone,
You can find the December EWB-USA newsletter at http://www.ewb-usa.org/eblast.php
Good luck on your finals and Happy Holidays from EWB-UIC!

Paul Brandt-Rauf, Dr.P.H, M.D., Sc.D., the new Dean of the School of Public Heath, will be speaking about his experiences with Engineers Without Borders. He has spoken at EWB international conferences in the past and has emphasized the importance of approaching EWB projects from many perspectives. This is also a great opportunity to catch up with EWB-UIC and learn about our last trip to Cerro Alto, Guatemala.
The Assessment Trip Follow up Meeting will be this coming Tuesday at 4:15 PM. Overall the trip was a success! but in unexpected ways... Come learn the latest news from Cerro Alto and Labor De Falla and see pictures of our visit. We learned many new things about the community and the water distribution system, met new people and developed stronger relationships. We will also be discussing the next steps in the project before implementation in January.
